Focus Seminar 2: Turns with Barridas

Date: Friday, December 29 - Saturday, December 30, 2017
Location: H95 Raum für Kultur, Horburgstrasse 95, 4057 Basel Switzerland
Level:  Intermediate and Advanced
Teacher: Joachim Dietiker (Michelle is on maternity leave during the first half of 2018)
Group size: maximum 7 couples with 1 teacher
Price:  200 CHF per person

We will continue our study of the structure and logic of turns, this time focusing especially on turns with barridas. By learning and using this "classical tango element" at different moments during giros, you can expand your technique and enrich your improvisation and interpretation.

It is not necessary to have attended the Focus Seminar 1 "Turns with Sacadas," but to get a deeper understanding of turns, we recommend participating in both Focus Seminars!

Focus Points

  • Understanding of the structure and logic of giros and barridas
  • Connection and specific barrida technique for leaders and followers
  • Different adaptations of the embrace
  • Classical barridas and atypical barridas

Extra Private Classes: For Focus Seminar participants, Joachim is available on December 31 for a limited number of private classes.  Please write him separately via email (michelle_joachim@yahoo.com) with the day and possible times you are available.
