Immersion Seminar 40: Vals… Rhythmic, Fluid and Dynamic!

Join us at the end of the year for our next Vals seminar! We love dancing vals, and are excited to share all our new insights, fun figures and ideas for musicality.

Some highlights we will explore:

  • Vals rhythm: Dancing only on the beat or with double time on the second or third beat

  • Turning figures and cadenas

  • Creating accelerations, pauses, accents

  • Use of the embrace and weight

  • Adaptations to increase speed for faster valses

  • Phrasing, swing and musical interpretation


During the 4 days, the 16 hours of class are usually organized like this:

Day 1
16:30-18:30 Part 1 (2 hours)
18:30-20:30 Dinner Break (2 hours)
20:30-22:30 Part 2 (2 hours)

Day 2 & 3
14:00-16:00 Part 1 (2 hours)
16:00-17:00 Mid-Afternoon Break (1 hour)
17:00-19:00 Part 2 (2 hours)

Day 4
11:00-13:00 Part 1 (2 hours)
13:00-14:00 Lunch Break (1 hour)
14:00-16:00 Part 2 (2 hours)
